Full E-Commerce Website Design
Role
My role entailed creating a custom design for the eCommerce website for the Kuhl mattress. The design was handed off to third-party developers to be developed into a custom Shopify theme. My focus was on delivering an elegant and clean design aesthetic that aligned with the premium quality of the product. Eventually, the Kuhl mattress eCommerce site was closed, and the mattress became exclusively available on Jeromes.com.
Deliverables
- Wireframes and clickable interactive prototypes to ensure a seamless shopping experience across desktop and mobile.
- Delivered custom design assets for the development of a Shopify theme, collaborating with third-party developers to ensure accurate implementation.

User Pain Points
- Most eCommerce premade themes are designed to handle multiple products, which didn’t suit the Kuhl mattress as a single premium product.
- Premade themes typically lacked layouts with large sections dedicated to product photos, which is critical for showcasing a premium product like the Kuhl mattress.
- eCommerce product pages can easily become cluttered with too much information, overwhelming potential buyers and detracting from the user experience.
Solutions
- Created a custom design to create a tailored UX , emphasizing its premium nature and ensuring the user experience focused solely on the product.
- Designed layouts with sections to showcase the photography team’s product photos throughout the website, helping to highlight the product’s quality.
- Created a clean and minimalist PDP (Product Detail Page) layout to present product details in an organized, easy-to-digest manner, improving user focus and reducing cognitive load.
